Acne Fighting Masks

Masks are like the cherry on top of the skin care sundae. Not only are they give you an excuse to relax but it also gives your skin that extra boost. I generally mask about twice a week and often mix up the types of masks that I use. Here are a few that have proven to be effective when it comes to zapping zits.

1. Honey, Lemon, & Banana Mask

Honey is a natural antibacterial agent that also draws moisture in from the air and peels away dead skin cells. Bananas act as a hydrating exfoliant which complements the Honey’s natural antibacterial agent. I personally don’t like the smell of bananas so I simply add a squeeze of lemon for a citrus scent boost. Lemons have also been known as a natural topical remedy for acne.

Leave this mask on for 20-30 mins, rinse, and resume with your skin care regime

2. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

This mask works wonders on drying up existing bumps and doesn’t leave your skin overly dry once the mask is washed off. Priced at ~$20 its a great go to mask to add to any skin care regime.

3. Mario Badescu Drying Mask

This is a new-found love. This sulphur based mask helps dry out those existing break outs. It does have a very potent smell but if you can get past the smell it works wonders!

This concludes my Acne series! I hope you were able to find some products to add to your skin care routine. It’s still an ongoing journey for me and will be sharing any other products that I come across.
