Chanel Spring 2015
From Beyonce’s Flawless remix with Nicki Minaj, Emma Watson’s UN He for She Speech, to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s We Should All Feminist Ted Talk. Ladies, we’re finally steering the conversation in the right direction.
Feminism is one of those taboo words that strips your femininity away from you. When you have strong opinions about gender equality or in my case, start a conversation among friends about how there are few women working in the tech industry, I feel the judgemental stares pierce into my skull. Despite these opinions, I do enjoy getting primped with the latest beauty trend or shopping for a pre-fall outfit. I have an intense shoe collection and enjoy the attention of attractive men – hey I’m single after all! I also hope that one day, in the distant future, I will have children and have hired help to do all my housework. By no means am I a man hater who goes around burning her Victoria Secret bra; no one is wasting a good bra and $50.
Today I declare and claim the label of a Feminist. I believe that I can be a part of a modern feminist movement that stands firm for gender equality while celebrating the essence of being a woman. I hope you will join me.
“No matter what people tell you words and ideas can change the world” – Robin Williams
In the wake of Robin Williams’ death, I am reminded to be kind to everyone I come across, for you don’t know what demons they’re battling. Robin Williams gave me my warmest childhood memories and I am lucky to have grown up in an era full of his works. I only hope to live a life that brings warmth, kindness, and beauty to the world as he once did.
Iggy Azalea. The blonde bombshell making waves on the charts. Ever since I came her across her song “My World”, I’ve been intrigued and respected her for her story. Then I decided to give her new album a try. It was on repeat for 3 days…I didn’t expect to come across a song like “Walk The Line”. There’s definitely a spark, a fire that you can feel. I’m a fan. You do you, girl.
I love makeup more than the average girl but most mornings, I would rather grab an extra 15 mins of sleep than work on a smokey eye. The following products help me create a matte everyday makeup look that lasts all day long.

Music is a crucial component of my life. It’s the driving force that allows me to amplify celebrations when the times are good and heals my heart in some of the most difficult moments. Growing up in a household where piano and flute lessons were a weekly occurence, I can appreciate the sweat equity, discipline, and diligence it takes to craft a single piece of music. Furthermore, growing up on Wham (yes, Wham. google it you young’ns if you have no idea), Michael Jackson, the Fugees, and a ton of gospel music, I have a respect of a variety of different genres.
This week I wanted to share a LA based DJ, TOKiMONSTA. Her beats are enchanting, mystical, haunting, and just ecletically cool.
Summer reminds me of beach days, sunsets, and the days that turn into nights, lounging on the patio with your closest friends. I tend to obsess over themes in every aspect of my life and nail polish is no exception. Here are a few of my favourites I’ve been constantly grabbing for this summer.
- Essie Bikini So Teeny
- Deborah Lippmann Waking Up in Vegas
- China Glaze Peachy Keen
- Essie Waltz
- Essie Lilacism
Welcome to the first edition of the Monday Minute! Every Monday I’ll be sharing a few favourites or my thoughts behind inspirational quotes I come across.
Due to a number of recent events, I’ve decided to slowly clean or purge different aspects of my life including my skin care, makeup, and nail care. This week I’ve purged my fragrance collection and wanted to share some of my favourite summer fragrances.
- Chanel Chance Eau Tendre
- YSL Baby Doll
- Miss Dior Cherie
Wishing you all a killer week!
